“Content Management Systems” or “CMS’s”A Content Management System is a large collection of code that allows users to upload and edit information on a website via their browser on their home computer. The alternative to this is learning to use expensive and complicated programs like Dreamweaver or Expression Web.The website administrator has full control over who has this access to the website and what information can be uploaded, the administrator can also control what visitors can view or upload. This type of website can be use used in various ways, websites such as Ebay, Facebook,Twitter, Wikipedia the list is almost endless of all the modern sites that use this technology. However these sites were very expensive to develop as they utilise vast amounts of code hand written by hundreds of coders, this amount of investment is well beyond the scope of the individual. These days much of the power of the CMS is available at much lower cost so that you can now have a dynamic site such as your own E-commerce store, blog, forum or local community website. These CMS sites get a lot more visitors sent to them from Google compared to traditional static websites, this is due to their dynamic functions and regularly changing content. We use open source programs such as Drupal and WordPress and then customize them to your individual requirements.Prices for this start at only £490,00 plus a monthly fee from only £19,95 depending on the level of support needed.Due to the nature of these websites the maintenance costs area bit higher than with a standard website.
Brighton Pod Press Release
PRESS RELEASE
Brighton POD launched
New Website Showcases the Freshest Products You Won’t See on the High Street
22nd November 2010,
Brighton: Promoting Original Design (POD) announces the launch of its new
website today, http://www.brightonpod.com which aims to hunt high and low to unearth the most
unique products from some of the most original and exciting designers working in the UK today,
providing them with a platform to connect with customers that would previously be out of reach.
Founded by Robin Rothwell in 2009 as a response to his own frustration at not being able to
effectively market and showcase his own work as an independent designer, the company is now
home to more than 500 products from over 100 designers.
Trudging through shopping centres from franchise to franchise trying to find that special gift to
express individuality to a loved one at Christmas can test good will to all men and drain the festive
spirit quicker than a cheap Christmas tree drops its needles. Brighton POD is the place to go for
customers to secure ownership of a diplodocus lamp, a proper old school trimphone and a kitsch
cuckoo clock. Everything is attractively priced and is a good alternative to the ‘everyone’s-got-that
stuff’ on the high street.
“In the quest for faster and more convenient products”, many of the values that helped create and
nurture Britain’s rich tradition of independent craftsmanship are being forgotten,” explains the Brighton
based furniture designer. “POD was developed to connect the country’s diverse community of small
craftspeople and designers with discerning and ethically-minded consumers. Original products made
by independent designers bring joy and beauty into our lives. We keep them for longer because we
attach more value to them. At POD we showcase the best of British design talent providing an
alternative to the corporate offerings that often favour transient ‘needs’ over quality and originality.”

Tips for Creating Cupcakes
By: JugHead
A cupcake is a delightful single serving treat that everyone loves. It is a popular dessert or snack that is commonly served at parties. They come in very handy and versatile. You can present your cupcakes in several ways – spider cupcakes, snowman design cupcakes or even Christmas cupcakes. You can create colourful icings or add toppings for additional taste and style.
Homemade cupcakes are easy to bake and design. This literature will give you valuable tips on how to create your own cupcakes.
Follow the Recipe
There are different cupcake recipes scattered on cooking books and online. Try to browse and scan for great cupcake recipes. Select the recipe you would like to create and take note of the ingredients and techniques used. Make sure you copied the precise and accurate measurement of the ingredients to prevent any mistake.
Baking Equipments and Ingredients
Gather all necessary ingredients and baking tools needed. Make sure that they are clean and dry. When baking cupcakes, you will need muffin pans, cup liners, decorating tools such as piping bag, nozzles, and sugar sprinkles, mixing bowls, measuring spoons and cups.
For your ingredients, consider to buy good quality flour and eggs. Good quality ingredients will definitely yield into delicious cupcakes. When preparing your main ingredients, consider to sift your flour. This will keep your flour fine and helps in mixing the batter more easily.
Mixing the Batter
Add all ingredients into your mixing bowl – milk, sifted flour, eggs and shortening. Mix all ingredients well by stirring them under one direction. Remember not to overly mix the batter. It will result to chewy cupcakes and taste flat or bland.
Plating
Once the batter is completely mixed, pour the batter into the muffin pan. Fill the pan approximately 2/3 of batter. This will create perfectly baked cupcakes. Over filling the muffin pan with the batter will get your cupcakes burn.
Make sure to pre-heat the oven for baking. Set the temperature of your oven based on the instructions given on the recipe. Place the prepared muffin pan into the oven and give an effort to check your cupcakes often. If you’re cupcakes seems cooked, apply a cake tester or a toothpick in the cupcake. Once the cake tester is pulled out and there are no crumbs included, the cake is already baked.
Set aside the muffin dry and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Remove the cupcakes from the pan. Apply cupcake frosting, icing or toppings for added decor and taste.
Baking cupcakes on your first attempt may not yield into a good result. It will surely take time and practice to perfect one. Once you have mastered the basics, you can be inventive and try other shapes, ingredients, decor and recipe. This will make your cupcake baking experience worthwhile.

Bad Habits Resulting in Low Work Efficiency
Bad Habits Resulting in Low Work Efficiency
By: erika
If you want to improve your work efficiency, you should not only find out the good habits which can improve your work efficiency but also find out the obstacles in the way of work. Those bad habits may have become part of your life, and you cannot even notice the existence of them. In this article, I will talk about some common bad habits in our daily work.
1. Absence
Woody Ellen once referred, “Success is from 80% of attendance…”Attendance is one the most major but easiest factors to success in your daily life, in your work and to your healthy. If you want to improve your health condition, you should attend the activities held in the gyms. Maybe the weather is so bad that you don’t want to go the gyms. But if you stick to taking exercises in such terrible days, you will definitely have a better figure than just coiled yourselves up in the sofa. This concept can also be extended to other fields of life. For instance, if you persist in writing or painting, your skills will be improved as soon as possible. If you attend more parties, you will make more friends or you may meet your sweethearts quickly. Instead, you are absent, you may lose lots of opportunities.
2. Dilatoriness
There are three ways to get rid of being dilatory in doing your work.
1) You can try to begin with the most complicated task or the most important work at the beginning of a new day. You will always be energetic and efficient while doing the work in the day.
2) You should divide your task into parts. Focus on the first part while dealing with the first part, then you may continue to do the next part.
3) Try to use psychology suggestive methods.
3. Unnecessary worries
People may take too much into account instead of take actions to do something to put it into practice. However, it is just a waste of time to consider too much. Obsession of thinking is just another expression of fiddling about. Instead, you should try to put the idea into practice before considering every factors related to it. There is no perfect time to do one task since the perfect time never comes. You will be deeply obsessed in your thoughts and find it difficult to take action. In fact, you should stop thinking and do what you should do now.
4. Negative attitudes
When you are filled with negative attitudes towards work and life, your enthusiasm will be extremely hit. You will find everything around is full of mistakes and problems. However, those so called problems do not exist at all. Facing this problem, you should train yourselves to do with the work with a postive attitude.
If you can get rid of those bad habits gradually, your work efficiency will be highly improved.

How to stop Snoring
Home Remedies for Snoring, Get Rid of Snoring
By: peterhutch
There are some simple and common home remedies for snoring. Why everybody is searching for home remedies? The reason for people searching home remedies is they are 100% natural, safe, effective and they are free. Here we are going to look for the most simple and common remedies available for stop snoring.
Limit the drinking of alcohol around bedtime. Snoring is caused by the relaxation of muscles in and around the mouth. Since alcohol acts as a sedative for most people, drinking alcohol around bedtime increases the chances of snoring. If you need an alcoholic drink, try to have it at least three hours before going to sleep.
Most people look for home remedies or over the counter drugs to stop snoring because the alternative is not appealing to them. If you have tried everything and still no results, then surgery might be your only choice. Talk with your doctor before embarking on a home remedy regimen. Your doctor will be able to tell you if the home remedies will be effective or not. Doing it this way will stop you from wasting your time on a wild goose chase
Another remedy to stop snoring involves changing your sleeping position. When a snorer sleeps on their back it causes the muscles in the throat to relax which makes the snoring sound. A simple change in your sleeping position may improve your breathing, however chronic snorers are able to snore in any sleeping position.
Weight loss is also one of the important stop snoring home remedies. This is because weight loss actually contributes to the condition in the first place. Excessive weight in your neck and chest can cause enough pressure on your muscles. This, in turn, disrupts the normal breathing process. Thus, if you are overweight, then you should consider taking on a diet plan. Just make sure yours is prescribed by a licensed physician, dietician, or nutritionist. Generally, a diet plan would also have you take on a more active lifestyle.
While there is no one herb that appears to be a cure all when it comes to snoring, combinations of various herbs have proven to be effective for many people. Commonly, a combination of passion flower and peppermint leaf powder yields some excellent results when then it comes to mild or moderate bouts of snoring. For more advanced situations, adding valerian root to the combination seems to strengthen the chances of offsetting bouts of snoring
Sleeping Position – One of the best stop snoring home remedy that I can offer you is to try and change your sleeping position. Did you know that by lying on your back you increase the chances of snoring at night? Try falling asleep on your side or stomach at night. It is much harder to snore in these positions. A little trick is to use a pillow on you side to prevent yourself from rolling onto your back

Recession blamed for unemployment
Union leaders have complained of a “distinct lack of jobs” in the UK, highlighting figures showing that the number of long term unemployed has doubled since before the recession.
The TUC said almost 250,000 people in England, Scotland and Wales had been claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance for at least a year, twice as many as at the start of 2008.Ahead of new unemployment figures, the TUC said the increase in long-term unemployment was caused by hundreds of thousands of jobs being lost during the recession and insufficient new ones being created. The union organisation warned that the position was likely to get worse as jobs were lost due to the Government’s spending cuts, which some experts believe could put an extra million people on the dole.Birmingham had the highest number of long-term unemployed claimants at 12,475, a 42% increase since January 2008, while in Glasgow the figure has increased by 121% to 5,545, and in Liverpool there were 4,760 people claiming JSA who have not worked for more than a year, a rise of almost a third, said the TUC.By the wider International Labour Organisation measure of unemployment, which includes people not eligible for benefit, there were currently 811,000 people facing long-term unemployment, an increase of 110% since the start of the recession.TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber said: “The UK has 2.5 million people out of work, not because we’re a nation of work shy scroungers without a work ethic, but because with an average five unemployed people chasing every vacancy, there is a distinct lack of jobs.”The number of people who have been out of work for a year or longer has more than doubled since January 2008. Unemployed people are the victims here, not the villains.”The Government should stop blaming unemployed people for their predicament and start creating rather than cutting jobs.”
HRT increases ovarian cancer risk by 29 per cent | What Doctors Don’t Tell You
There’s more bad news about HRT (hormone replacement therapy), despite the best efforts of drug companies to put up a PR smokescreen. Not only does the drug cause heart disease and breast cancer in menopausal women, researchers have also discovered it increases the risk of ovarian cancer by 29 per cent.
If you must take HRT, take it for only a limited time, say researchers from Oxford University who discovered the drug’s new dangers. They profiled the health of 126,920 women over nine years, and found that those who were currently taking HRT had a 29 per cent increased risk of ovarian cancer. The risk disappeared in women who had taken the drug, but had since stopped the treatment.
The researchers discovered the risk was consistent across all types of HRT – whether estrogen or estrogen plus progestin – and dose.
This latest news is a blow to drug manufacturers, who have mounted a sustained campaign of spin and PR masquerading as science since 2001 when the first health concerns over HRT were raised by the prestigious Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) study.

Talk with homeopath reduces arthritis swelling | What Doctors Don’t Tell You
Our mind can dramatically alter disease – and even improve painful, chronic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, a new study has discovered.
Researchers made the discovery when they were reviewing the effectiveness of homeopathic remedies on a group of 83 rheumatoid arthritis patients.
They discovered it wasn’t the remedy, but the consultation – the time spent talking to a homeopath, who was sympathetic to their pain – that was making the difference.
After the consultation, the participants reported physical changes to swollen joints, and a decrease in pain and negative feelings.

New Chinese herb suppresses food allergies for 40 weeks | What Doctors Don’t Tell You
Food allergy may soon be a thing of the past – if a Chinese herbal formula turns out to be as beneficial as early test results are suggesting.
A new Chinese herbal formula, FAHF-2 (Food Allergy Herbal Formula), has already significantly reduced allergy to peanuts when it was tested on laboratory mice.
Thus far, FAHF-2 has passed two levels of clinical trials, and has been proven to be safe in humans, and its preventative effects last for 40 weeks – giving people with food allergies nearly a year free of discomfort and bloating.
Allergist Helen Chan, one of the researchers, said that the formula is a one-course treatment that may be effective against all allergens, and not just peanuts.

One in 10 children has ADHD, and most are on drugs
One in 10 children in America suffers from ADHD (attention-deficit/hyperactive disorder), and two-thirds of these – around 2.7 million – are taking medication, new figures reveal.
About 5.4 million American children, aged from 4 to 17 years, have some form of ADHD, according to the latest figures. This represents a 21 per cent increase over a four-year period.
The current levels could be even worse as these figures represent the situation in 2007, when the survey was carried out. If the trend has continued, 6.48 million American children have ADHD today.
The increase has happened across all socio-demographic groups, and especially among older teenagers, who have witnessed a 42 per cent rise.
Researchers from the US’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention surveyed parents, who were asked if a doctor or healthcare provider had diagnosed ADHD in their child.

Looking old? Don’t worry, it doesn’t mean you’re ill
Don’t worry if people say you are looking older than your years. It doesn’t mean you are unwell or that you have a serious illness, say researchers.
When people say we are looking old, the natural assumption – even among doctors – is that it is a sign of illness.
But it’s a meaningless assessment, say researchers at the University of Toronto, unless you look 10 years older than your actual age. When that happens, 99 per cent of cases actually do have poor physical or mental health.
The research team assessed the age, looks and health of 126 people who were visiting a doctor’s surgery. Each was photographed, and doctors were asked to guess their age. Those who were thought to be five years older than they were almost never had anything wrong with them.
This popular way of quickly assessing someone’s health is invariably inaccurate, and doctors should drop the practice, say the researchers.
